Welcome to the Greenmont Avenue Elementary School web site! We are excited that you have taken this opportunity to explore and discover what makes the Greenmont Avenue Elementary School a very special and unique professional learning community of life long learning. As a relatively small and yet historic school building built in the 1930's as the original high school, we now serve a yearly average of 225 students in grades K-4 and are a true community school. We value the connections and relationships we develop with all our students, their families and the larger Dracut community. Through the establishment of our Code of Conduct every year at the beginning of each school year, our students feel supported and safe to learn in a setting where their individual differences are valued and they feel secure in taking risks and trying new things. Our Six Keys to Success; Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be A Good Communicator, Be An Active Participant, Be Safe and Be Truthful are embedded into our everyday thinking, decision making and daily class meeting discussions and form the foundation for optimal learning, both academically and social/emotionally, to take place. This whole child philosophy embodies our school mission and vision and is the basis from which all decisions are made.

We value your input and the critical role and partnership that our families play in the success of their child(ren) and the larger success of the school as a learning community. Our current SMART Goals for the 2010-2011 school year, as developed by our School Site Council, are outlined in our School Improvement Plan and will form the foundation for our continued learning. If you have any questions regarding the school, please feel free to call our Secretary Mrs. Leccese at (978) 453-1797 or rleccese@dracutpublicschools.net I can be reached at dhill@dracutpublicschools.net. Please don't hesitate to call us or visit the school and discover what makes us special!

Sincerely,
David S. Hill
Principal
