September 2, 2010 Dear Parents and Families: As your new Superintendent of Schools, I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you back for the 2010–2011 school year. Thanks to the dedication and hard work of the Dracut Public Schools’ staff members, last school year, our students made progress in many areas. This year, we will see even greater gains in student achievement. Our focus this year will be on expanding our capacity to meet and exceed the needs of every student. I am honored to be part of an organization that invests in continued growth and learning. We will create opportunities and provide support for our students as they rise to their learning potential. Together, we will continue to build the partnership that makes this possible. As a reminder, the bus fee program for students in grades 7 through 12 will be $125.00 per student rider, with a $250.00 family cap. A waiver of fee program is available for those students who receive free and reduced lunch. We hope to be able to provide you with a credit card payment option for fees, such as these, later this fall. Please look for this information on our updated website later this fall. As we strive to become a school district of excellence, I hope you will make your voice heard and share your concerns and recommendations. Our ability to reach our goals this year will be limited only by our ability to think big and to dream big. As the school year progresses, I look forward to meeting you at various events and celebrating your child’s accomplishments. Together, we can reach new heights in the Dracut Public Schools.
